Minister Aiwanger, what did you like best about our battery laboratory? 

What I really liked was the practical approach, being able to do the testing while at the same time transferring real data into software. Everything here is very pragmatic and future oriented.  

And what impressed you most about the company TWAICE? 

I was most impressed by the team spirit, which I could immediately feel here. Young proactive people who have discovered a very relevant industry for the future and already successfully addressed it. Young people who not only have nice theoretical ideas and plans but have turned their ideas into reality in a very short time and thereby occupied a segment of the economy that is definitely very promising for the future. Electric mobility, batteries, energy storage – these are the topics that will evolve a lot in the future.  

One last question: Electric mobility and renewable energies have become an integral part of our lives. What measures are planned on the political level to support the further establishment of battery and electrification technologies in general?  

There are various federal and state funding programs, and the Free State of Bavaria is also supporting research in this area. So, we are supporting research, but also apply other methods like environmental subsidies for electric vehicles. We are providing a lot of political support and I hope that this area is going to further progress – but with a company like TWAICE, this is guaranteed.
