Battery Quick Check GmbH wins partner for independent evaluation of vehicle batteries
The new subsidiary of TÜV Rheinland and TWAICE gains Hella Gutmann Solutions as a partner / Cross-manufacturer and independent battery assessment via diagnostic device / Development on schedule.
Battery Quick Check GmbH has found a partner in Hella Gutmann Solutions to offer a cross-manufacturer and independent evaluation of traction batteries for used electric vehicles. Using the company's mega macs X diagnostic device, qualified personnel in workshops will in the future be able to perform battery diagnostics developed by Battery Quick Check GmbH.
"With Hella Gutmann Solutions, we have been able to win an important manufacturer of diagnostic equipment for the Battery Quick Check. Talks with other diagnostic manufacturers are on the home stretch, so we are pursuing the goal of being able to offer the Battery Quick Check nationwide in garages throughout Germany.", states Katharina Alamo Alonso, one of the managing directors of Battery Quick Check GmbH, which was newly founded by TÜV Rheinland and TWAICE in March 2022.
For the Battery Quick Check, the specialists use the onboard diagnostic (OBD) system with the OBDII interface of a vehicle. Unlike existing solutions on the market, Battery Quick Check relies on software-controlled loading of the vehicle battery via a diagnostic device and wall box during the charging process instead of time-consuming battery loading while driving. The measured values recorded in the process are used to calculate the battery health status in the cloud with the help of the TWAICE Battery Analytics Platform.
Battery diagnostics can be carried out directly in a service station, for example, within around 60 minutes. Following the assessment, a detailed report on the State of Health (SoH) of the battery is produced, which is certified by TÜV Rheinland. The certificate documents the manufacturer-independent condition assessment of the high-voltage battery and forms the basis for expert opinions and the valuation of used electric vehicles.
The market launch of the Battery Quick Check is planned for autumn 2022. Target customers for the new service include car dealerships, car repair chains, leasing companies, and corporate fleet management. Private customers can take advantage of the service through their car dealerships or auto repair shops.
